Nuclear Family

Written, Directed & Choreographed by Caroline Burkhart

Children are alert to the world’s wonder and danger all at once. Nuclear Family is a dance-theatre piece that examines how the normalization of violence introduced with the Cold War continues to dominate the classroom and household today.

Originally performed in the Frances Ann Cannon Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College in 2019, Caroline debuted Nuclear Family in New York City at The Brick’s ?!:New Works Festival in August 2023.

The work featured Caroline Burkhart, Bobbie Edmunds, Julliette Holliday, Dan Smyth-Temple, and Scout Watkins with assistant direction by Lulu Guzman.
